March 2014: New Vicar for Cople , Moggerhanger and Willington.  It has been anounced that the Revd Fiona Gibson has been selected as the new vicar to replace the Revd Lynda Klimas.  Fiona is currently the assistant curate at Christ Church, Bedford and will be inducted by the Bishop of Bedford at Cople parish church on Wednesday, 10th September 2014.

June 2014.  The Bishop of Bedford spent much of Wednesday, 11th June in Biggleswade Deanery, on the theme of "Transforming Communities".  In the morning he, and other Deanery clergy, spent the day working with the volunteers in the Dunton Garden, a community facility which helps individual get back to working after a period without work.

In the evening he met with the lay members of the Deanery in Dunton Parish Church.  Here each of the parishes submitted lists of the ways in which their church members were involved in, and therefore transforming, their communities.  Parishes came up with a wide range of activities as are illustrated by these  lists.  Bishop Richard invited a number of the parish members to talk about their activities.

Many present were surprised at the extent to which their churches were involved in the community and it was concluded that in many cases it was the church which glued together the various elements of the community.

August 2014: St John's Hospice at Moggerhanger are once more having a fundraising Starlight Hike at Moggerhanger.  This is a 10km walk around the grounds of the hospice, starting at 10pm on the 13th September 2014. Their aim is to recruit 1100 walkers for the event, which last year made over £100,000 for the hospice! See poster for details of how to register."

SEPTEMBER 2014: In a very joyful service at All Saints, Cople on Wednesday, 10th September, the Revd Fiona Gibson was Collated to the benefice of Cople, Moggerhanger and Willington by the Rt Rev Richard Atkinson, Bishop of Bedford, and installed by our Rural Dean, the Revd Lindsay Dew.  Fiona comes to us from being Assistant Curate at Christ Church, Bedford (following in the footsteps of the Rev Tim Robb, who came from Christ Church to Eaton Socon in 2007).

A large congregation was present to welcome Fiona along with husband David and children Matthew and Anna, who are settling into Cople vicarage.  Fiona brought along so many of her friends from Bedford that with all the representatives from the 3 parishes a marquee had to be erected outside the west door

On August Bank Holiday Monday, 4,000 people from around the Diocese braved the (traditional?) weather to take part in a joyous and spiritally uplifting celebration of the centenary of St Albans Diocese in its present form.  A party from the Deanery, led by Mrs Maureen Munro of Sandy, went by coach to the event and had a glorious day out.
